狗牙嶺位於大嶼山，鳳凰山南面支脈，石壁水塘以東，因山勢高低起伏，山峰又尖又窄，狀如犬齒而得名。狗牙嶺主要可由三條山脊路線前往，分別為西狗牙、中狗牙及東狗牙，其中最險要之處稱為「一線生機」，亦是中、西狗牙的交匯點。與有香港第一險峰蚺蛇尖相比，論險要可謂有過之而無不及。
Kau Nga Ling (Dog Teeth Range) is located at Lantau Island, the branch range of Lantau Peak, the eastern side of Shek Pik Reservoir. ‘Kau Nga Ling’ literally means the ‘hill of dogs’ teeth’ due to its thin and rugged mountain ridge, such ridge like dogs' teeth in appearance. There are 3 paths namely West Kau Nga, Mid Kau Nga and East Kau Nga. The most challenging spot is a junction between West Kau Nga and Mid Kau Nga, called ‘a slim chance of survival’. This hiking trail is only suitable for extreme hikers.
